At a town meeting in 1867, voters authorized the Selectmen to expend up to $1,500 for the apprehension and return of Samuel M. Carr and his three children. No mention of the scandal he caused appears in any published history of New London. This slide presentation, created with the permission and assistance of four descendants, reviews the accusations and evidence in the mysterious story of “Bad Man” Carr.
