At long last the snow is melting in New London. Up here on the hill, the field is still covered, but the roofs are clear and the snow is shrinking back from the foundations. Despite the record snowfall, our 16 buildings appear to have weathered the storms without serious damage. Mud season is now in full swing, but we have hosted some successful programs over the past few weeks, and no one has needed a tow truck yet!
The Tuesday Gang's punch list is long, as usual, and some of its stalwart members have been sidelined by illness over the winter. If you can help us get ready for the summer tour season, Hank would love to hear from you. Just send us a "volunteer" e-mail.
If you've managed to travel County Road recently, you must have seen our administrative building masked by stacks of water pipes. The society has offered this property's grounds as a staging area for construction work linked to the new roundabout (see sidebar). You can find more information about this project at the town's web site.
That's about all from Old New London. We hope to see you on May 10 for Young at Art and on May 18 for the grand exhibit opening. Please check our calendar for details.
