The following special exhibits are planned for the summer season (July 4 through Labor Day):
Antique & Contemporary Quilts: Women's Participation in the Civil War
During the war years, it is estimated that Northern women made and donated between 250,000 and 400,000 quilts to the cause. This exhibit features antique quilts from the period, and replicas and those evocative of the period by contemporary textile artists from the area.

Mini-Exhibits in the Transportation Building
As you tour the horse-drawn vehicle museum, be sure to look for these two mini-exhibits:
Things They Might Have Carried ― From our collections and on loan, New Hampshire’s Civil War soldiers might have carried one or more of these personal and military items into battle.
Things They Might Have Worn — Ladies of the mid– to late-1800s dressed in style when they traveled, whether to practice their professions—like Dr. Anna Littlefield; to visit with friends; or to spend the summer at the lake. These travelling and day dresses are all from the Society’s collections.
